About

Lina Ochoa Hunter, was born in Colombia, South America. She graduated from dental school in 1996 and practiced dentistry for 11 years. For as long as she could remember she wanted to be a Pastry Chef, baking cakes, cookies and chocolates for all school and family events. She has studied with the BEST confectionary artist's like Colette Peters, Scott Clark Woolley and Notter school of pastry arts.

Now that her life has changed since the birth of her children, Ilana and Sebastian, she has decided to stop working in the Dental field and become a confectionary artist and a dedicated Mom and Wife.

Using only the finest ingredients, she has mastered taste and appearance, in a fun colorful way.

Lina will provide FRESHNESS, FLAVOR and EXQUISITE DESIGN for your next event.

Ordering Information

We take orders either by phone, email, or through our online form. We’d like as much lead-time as possible…but if you have a short notice order, ask us, and we’ll try to get it done for you! If possible, we ask that you give us at least 4 to 6 weeks notice on specialty cake orders.

How much are your cakes?

Because all of our cakes are priced individually by the complexity of their design, we do not have a standard price list.

Due to the care we give to each cake and the one-of-a-kind nature of each order, we require a minimum of $90 on all of our cakes

How do I order a cake?

To start the order process, please send an email through the contact us or to cakesbydesignedibleart@hotmail.com containing all the following information:

~the date of your event

~the occasion/nature of your event (wedding, bat mitzvah, etc)

~the event location, delivery address, and delivery time

~how many people you will need to feed

~your daytime phone number

~your email address

2 flavors from our flavor list you would like to sample with an idea of what kind of cake design you are looking for.

We will contact you to to discuss your order and/or schedule an appointment.

Our home based bakery is open by appointment only, we do not have any cakes pre-made for sale. Every cake we make is custom made to order from start to finish.

Picture Cakes

Cakes by design does have the capability of printing your pictures, corporate logos or images onto cakes, cupcakes and cookies. Displaying your corporate logo on one of our creative cake designs is a great way to brand your company. Corporations have also used picture cakes & cupcakes for new brand launches, retirement dinners, and charity events, and company anniversaries. Display Cakes

We can make display cakes perfect for bridal events, outdoor weddings or magazine shoots. Please contact us to learn more.

What's your payment policy?

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your order; the remainder is due at least two weeks prior to your event. Your order is not confirmed until we have received your signed contract and 50% non-refundable deposit.

Payment can be made by cash, check or credit card (Visa, or Mastercard, and Discover). Cake orders placed with less than two weeks notice require payment in full by credit card at the time of ordering. Deposits are non-refundable.

If you cancel your order, your balance payment is refundable provided that cakes by design edible art is notified at least seven (7) business days prior to the event. There is no payment refund on orders canceled within seven (7) business days of the event.

Design/Tasting appointments are held for most, but not all, cake orders.

Event dates are held for you through the date of your appointment or quote, and five (5) business days afterwards. If we do not receive a signed contract and 50% deposit within five (5) business days of your appointment or quote, your date may become unavailable.

Do you offer discounts?

Cakes by Design Edible Art proudly offers a 15% discount to teachers, police officers, fire fighters, and active members of the armed services, Please let us know once you place your order.

Do you deliver?

YES< Delivery is available for all cakes and cakes that require on-site assembly.

Delivery fees are calculated by distance traveled and are roughly $2/mile. Our delivery range is roughly 1-2 hours from North Andover. North Andover is located in the state of Massachusetts. We prodly deliver with Paramount Delivery Service.

Longer deliveries are occasionally arranged, but must be determined on a case-by-case basis.

While it is generally not a problem for clients to transport smaller cakes, self-transporting any cake is at your own risk. Cakes by Design Edible Art does not recommend clients self-transport 3D/sculptural cakes, cakes over 2 tiers tall, or any cake more than 3 hours and is not responsible for any damage that may occur to any client-transported cake once it has left our bakery.

Do you ship your cakes?

We do not ship our cakes.
